The world is getting a double bagel emoji

Tennis texters and tweeters can rejoice, as there's finally going to be a bagel emoji. That means no more putting doughnuts in your messages when your favorite player dishes out a bagel.

The first person to call a 6-0 set a "bagel," per Peter Bodo, was 1976 French Open finalist Harold Solomon. The term was later made popular by journalist Bud Collins. Now, there's even a tennis blog called The Double Bagel.

One notable double bagel came in the 1981 Amelia Island final, in which Chris Evert shut out Martina Navratilova on the green clay.

"Evert with her bagel-party face on," Collins said.

Andy Murray, in an exceedingly rare feat, once triple-bageled  Luxembourg's Laurent Bram in the 2011 Davis Cup.

The only issue with the emoji is that the bagel is cut in half and viewed almost horizontally, so it doesn't quite resemble a "0."

According to Emojipedia, whose founder sits on the Unicode Emoji Subcommittee, the bagel emoji should be ready for use in the second half of this year.
