Throwback Thursday: Hall of Famers win Rogers Cup

Clijsters and Roddick have a lot more in common than you think.

Kim Clijsters and Andy Roddick have a lot more in common than you might first think. Both have won the US Open (Roddick once, Clijsters three times), both have won over 30 titles (Roddick 32, Clijsters 41), both reached No. 1, both retired in 2012, both were inducted into the Hall of Fame this summer and both have won a Rogers Cup title.

Clijsters won Toronto in 2005 over her compatriot Justin Henin. Roddick won in Montreal in 2003 by beating Roger Federer in the semifinal and David Nalbandian in the final.

Oh, and, both actually won their respective Rogers Cup crowns just weeks before winning their maiden Grand Slams in New York City.
