Day 3 started off with a few dark horses triumphing and founding themselves advancing past former Grand Slam champions.

These are the Top 5 photos from Wednesday's Australian Open action:

Su-wei Hseih

Despite Bianca Andreescu not competing since October 2019, the Taipei native had to perform well to pull off the upset. The 35-year-old rolled past the 2019 US Open champion, 6-3, 6-2, to move into the Australian Open's third round.

This is the first time in nearly a year the world No. 71 has put together two consecutive match wins. She will face Venus Williams or Sara Errani on Friday.

Diego Schwartzman Dominates

Locked in from start to finish, the No. 8 seed posted a seamless 6-2, 6-0, 6-3 score over Alexandre Muller. The Argentine will battle against qualifier world No. 114 Aslan Karatsev for a spot in the Slam's fourth round. Schwartzman has yet to reach the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, but with the level he displayed against the Russian, he could make some noise in 2021.

Serena Williams

Vintage-Rena was on full display on Rod Laver Arena as she posted a dominant 6-3, 6-0 win against Nina Stojanovic. The 23-time major champion was cracking 200 kmh serves and powering her way through the court, making zero unforced errors in a flawless second set. She will take on Anastasia Potapova, who she dismissed in their last meeting at the 2020 Australian Open.
