Following a near wash-out on Monday, there was a lot of action to take in on Day 3 at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.

Stefanos Tsistipas

Bidding for his maiden Masters 1000 title, the 22-year-old Greek aced Aslan Karatsev with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over the in-form Russian. Despite a strong start to 2021, Tsitsipas has yet to win a title this season.

Grigor Dimitrov

The 14th seed had a good day at the office, taking out Jan-Lennard Struff, 6-3, 6-4. For spot in the round of 16, Dimitrov will meet Jeremy Chardy. He leads the Frenchman 3-2 in their head-to-head series.

Clear skies

Having suspended most of its Day 2 action due to rain, play resumed on Tuesday in the Principality without any interruption.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina

The Spaniard’s stay in Monte Carlo is shaping up to be a dream. Following his win over Alex De Minaur in the opening round, Davidovich Fokina stunned eighth-seeded Matteo Berrettini, 7-5, 6-3, to punch his ticket to the third round.

Yannick Hanfmann

The German lost in the qualifying round to Alexei Popyrin but is sticking around. Hanfmann watched some of Wednesday’s action from a window on Wednesday.
