In August 2015, Carreno Busta captured his first ATP singles title at the Winston-Salem Open, beating fellow Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut in the final. It was his second ATP final of that year having reached the Estoril final in April where he lost to Benoit Paire. The success sent him into the Top 40 for the first time.
