Tournament director steps in as ball boy in Charleston

In Charleston, tennis has always been a family affair. But this week, the community dedication has been taken up a level. Credit One Bank Invitational tournament director Bob Moran stepped in for ball person duties when matches ran late on Thursday.

Rain hindered action on Tuesday and Wednesday night, forcing a packed schedule of action for Thursday. Ball boys and girls have been wearing masks and gloves, and instead of touching the balls directly they use a small tube.

Moran is the longtime tournament director of the Volvo Car Open, which was cancelled in April. He helped organize the invitational this week, featuring 16 players split up into two teams.
