For Katie Boulter, Great Britain’s No. 2 player, there’s no place like home during the hectic grass-court swing leading up to Wimbledon.

This week, she’s taking on a historic challenge at the Lexus Nottingham Open—going for her third consecutive title at the WTA 250 event.

Last week, the 28-year-old made her debut on the lawns of The Queen’s Club, which hosted a women’s event for the first time since 1973 alongside the ATP 500 tournament. Having previously visited London to watch fiance Alex de Minaur compete, Boulter enjoyed the chance to see their roles reversed.

“I actually got given (a piece of jewelry) for my very first title. It has the date of the day that I won, so I’d want to try to add to my collection… I love a bracelet.”

“It was weird, actually,” she joked after seeing De Minaur in her player box. “It was great, because I have such fond memories of watching him. Every time I have come down here, it's, like, the epitome of quintessential British life.

“It's so nice to see everyone out here enjoying themselves, watching tennis, getting behind the tradition, and I was one of those people as a fan.”

When it comes to being there for each other—through the wins and the tough losses—Boulter and De Minaur are stronger than ever. She opened up about their bond in an episode of **Tennis Channel’s VIP Tennis Lounge**, a series hosted by former world No.1 Garbine Muguruza featuring candid conversation with top players and rising stars.

“This is so gross,” Boulter told host Muguruza. “I'm sorry to say this out loud, but actually spending time with my fiance (cheers me up)… I was gonna say boyfriend, but, yeah, fiance.

“Just getting away from the tennis court, going and doing something completely fun. Probably exploring a little bit of the city that we're in at the moment and switching off from tennis. Or even calling home. I love calling home, speaking to my grandparents, and seeing how they're getting on... Life goes on."

The back-to-back Nottingham champion also revealed the one major splurge that she hopes to turn into a tradition: “I actually got given (a piece of jewelry) for my very first title. It has the date of the day that I won, so I’d want to try to add to my collection… I love a bracelet.”
