Venus Williams may be 40-years-old but her words are as sharp as her play.

During a press conference at Roland Garros after losing in the first round to Ekaterina Alexandrova, Williams gave a savage response to a reporter who asked how the seven-time Grand Slam champion handles pressure and stress from the tennis media.

“For me personally, how I deal with it was that I know every single person asking me a question can’t play as well as I can. And never will,” she said.

There has been a lot of talk about the tennis press at Roland Garros recently since Naomi Osaka was fined for not talking to the press due to her mental health.

Venus is used to the French Open press, having participated in the tournaments since 1997, only missing the 2011 edition. Williams reached her only French Open final in 2002.
