Victoria Azarenka kicks off Think About It second season with entrepreneur David Grutman

Victoria Azarenka debuted the second season of her Think About It podcast on Monday, and kicks things off in the first episode with entrepreneur David Grutman.

Grutman began as a popular restauranteur, owning multiple hot spots that make up Miami’s incredible night life, and talks to the former WTA world No. 1 about his desire to expand—into other regions and other industries.

The two bonded over their shared passion for tennis, a passion that Grutman developed during the 2020 lockdown.

“I took up tennis during COVID. I started hitting the ball with the trainer, and felt the topspin. Once you get passionate about something, it doesn’t seem like a battle because I’m so excited to go play.”

That love has come in handy as he had already partnered with Prince, and expressed a desire to rebuild the iconic tennis brand to its former glory.

“I thought what was cool about it was how it was a country club brand from my childhood: whether it was Agassi, or this one, that one, they all had Princes. I think there’s something about a heritage American brand that’s just iconic, and it’s been such a cool thing to see it come back to life.”
