Be more aggressive by practicing proper footwork for short shots.

A short ball is an opportunity to be aggressive and you want to maximize that by getting to the ball quickly and effectively. Practice your footwork using this drill, and focus on having a good, balanced split step to push off from. Your first step is the most important one, and needs to be balanced and explosive.

From there, it’s a matter of moving in and then recovering quickly.
