It isn't just Federer's backhand that's been wowing in Shanghai; he also made the highlight reel on Thursday with a crosscourt forehand and backhand volley:

For the second match in a row, Federer needed three sets to win. But he managed to get past Roberto Bautista Agut 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, before easing past Kei Nishikori on Friday to reach the semifinals.
