MATCH POINT: Casper Ruud surges into Madrid semis with Daniil Medvedev win

Ahead of Roland Garros, Medvedev is the star of a new Lacoste promotion—only this time it’s not Daniil in front of the camera, but wife Daria Medvedeva who is taking her star turn.

The mother-of-two was recently featured in a social media clip promoting the buzzy partnership between FP Movement, Free People’s activewear brand, and Medvedev’s apparel sponsor Lacoste, who collaborated to drop a new tenniscore-inspired shoe collection.

Set in a quintessential Parisian sidewalk cafe, Medvedeva and a model teamed up in a French lesson of sport-meets-style. The pair volleyed tennis terms for “tennis ball” and racquet, as well as more essential lingo to help fans of tennis and fashion navigate Roland Garros.

The Russian, who resides in southern France and tagged herself as an FP Movement partner on social media, aced the language lesson and photoshoot in style.

Since its launch in 2012, FP Movement has outfitted WTA players including Danielle Collins, Sloane Stephens and Sofia Kenin.

This shoe collection marks the brand’s first venture into tennis-specific footwear, and features four sneakers in three different retro styles. They’re available in trendy, faded colorways like pastel green, butter yellow and burnt orange reminiscent of terre-battue.

A fixture at her husband’s matches, Medvedeva has increasingly taken charge in the family’s business moves.

In 2023, she co-founded RawQ, a line of buckwheat-powered energy bars, with good friend and nutritionist Arina Kuzmina. Medvedev was their taste-tester before becoming the brand’s first ambassador, and now players like Andrey Rublev have been spotted using the bars for fuel during matches.

Medvedev is set to take the court at Roland Garros on Sunday, with the No. 11 seed set to start his Paris campaign against Cameron Norrie.
