On Wednesday Ajla Tomljanovic and Matteo Berrettini sat down on Instagram Live with Chris Evert to talk about their careers, relationship and their new normal.

The couple is currently staying with Tomljanovic's family in Boca Raton, Fla. and they certainly seem to be enjoying the unexpected time together.

"We don't get much time together [on tour]," said Tomljanovic, who has been a regular at the Evert Tennis Academy in Boca since she was 13.

Amidst all of the stress and tension, her silver lining is being healthy and having quality time with her family and Berrettini. The two are trying to skip Netflix and use their time for more productive things, such as cooking and learning languages.

"Your English is so much better," Evert said to Berrettini, who gave his girlfriend all of the credit.

Besides language lessons, the two are training six days a week, and using the Evert Academy courts.

"I always felt that I'm just not consistent enough to solidify myself in the Top 20's, Top 30's," Tomljanovic said.

She reached her highest ranking last season of No. 39. Although she's almost 27 years old, she feels 20 because of the rest and time she has always taken to heal properly from countless injuries.

Berrettini spoke about his breakthrough 2019 season, also touching on his injury struggles.

"I didn't expect to be in the semis of the US Open, but also having a great grass-court swing was unexpected," the world No. 8 said.

Evert asked a lot of tough questions, like if their relationship has helped them on the court.

"I think if you're happy off the court it's definitely going to help your career," Tomljanovic said.

Obviously, it's nice to have a partner that understands the grueling tennis schedule. It's more than that for Berrettini.

"I really appreciate the relationship she's built with my family," Berrettini said. "My family loves her."

Berrettini and Tomljanovic remain hopeful that the US Open will be played this year, which they think might be the first event after the suspension is lifted.
