Tommy Haas, former world No. 2 and owner of a beautiful one-handed backhand, shares his tips for one-handed success with the ATP.

Some of the benefits of taking a hand off your backhand include adding a lot of variety, using the slice better (even as a return or chip-and-charge shot), feeling the drop shot better and even having more disguise.

"I like to think that my backhand has been a very, very important shot in my game, obviously," Haas said.

The 39-year-old hinted that his career is over after losing his Kitzbuhel opener in July (his sixth straight loss). If he doesn't return, his last career win will be over fellow one-hander Roger Federer in Stuttgart.
