On Thursday, after completing the 16-minute long first game of their second-round clash in Melbourne, Novak Djokovic and Denis Istomin took a much deserved seat during the changeover (players aren't normally allowed to rest after the first game).

Djokovic then jokingly suggested they fast forward to 4-3, before taking it one step further:

"We can move onto the tiebreak if you want."

The world No. 2 had saved six break points in that first game, and felt pretty proud of himself.

As predicted, the first set would indeed go to a tiebreak. But things didn’t end well for the six-time Australian Open champion. Istomin, ranked No. 117, took full advantage of his wildcard entry to score the upset, 7-6 (8), 5-7, 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory in four hours and 48 minutes.
