WATCH: Kerber, Lopez star in tennis western short film

For part of the season, tennis is played on clay courts, sometimes under hot, dry and exhausting conditions. That's why it makes sense for Angelique Kerber and Feliciano Lopez to star in a tennis Western, promoting the Monterrey Open.

In the video, Kerber is the baddest player in town, firing tennis balls at everyone and everything; that is, until Lopez steps in to put a stop to her.

It's a wild video that does the job of promoting the fun and heat of the Monterrey Open.

Kerber has been the runner-up at the Mexican tournament twice, in 2013 and 2017. This year, the No. 1 seed is looking to win the whole thing, having gotten past Kristina Kucova in the first round. She will face Karolina Muchova in the round of 16.

Lopez is the No. 3 seed in the ATP Challenger also taking place in Monterrey.
