If you’re 0-3 against your opponent in head-to-head encounters, it’s necessary to pull out all the stops when trying to reverse the tide.

Adrian Mannarino took that to heart against Novak Djokovic in the second round of the Cincinnati Masters tournament.

After winning the opening set—the first he’d ever taken against Djokovic—the Frenchman was on the verge of dropping the second when he stunned his opponent with a no-look flicker that set up an easy backhand passing shot.

While it wasn’t enough to stop the No. 10 seed from leveling the match, it was an impressive shot, nonetheless. The moment was reminiscent of Pablo Cuevas’ no-look stunner against Alexander Zverev in 2017, which was deemed Baseline’s Hot Shot of the Year.

Cuevas has actually been on the receiving end of Mannarino's trickery, as seen last year in Rome.

Back to Cincinnati: Djokovic raced through the second and third sets to advance to the round of 16 for the ninth time. The Serbian is somehow still seeking his first title in Cincinnati, which would complete his ATP Masters 1000 set.
