WATCH: Paire spits, then tanks at end of Buenos Aires loss

Once again, Benoit Paire has flooded headlines—but for all the wrong reasons.

In his first-round match at the Argentina Open against 137th-ranked qualifier Francisco Cerundolo, the Frenchman let his anger and emotions get the best of him. The No. 3 seed didn't just take an unexpected 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 loss, he crashed out of Buenos Aires in disgraceful fashion.

Down a break in the second set, Paire began to spiral out of control when Cerundolo hit a down-the-tee ace. Believing it was a fault, Paire argued with chair umpire Nacho Forcadell over the call, before spitting on the mark and yelling obscenities, which landed him a warning.

Paire couldn't let it go, later incurring a point penalty for spitting and cursing again. Continuing to boil, he dropped the second set and soon lost five of six games in the decider. A complete tank job then emerged.

In the final game, Paire smacked a backhand and a forehand into the bottom of the net. Down 0-30, his second serve was directed toward the right side of the ad court. The 31-year-old ended with a successive double fault by hitting a "changeup" well wide, all while a ballboy retrieved his first netted serve.

The world No. 29 will undoubtedly be fined due to his actions, but it doesn't seem to be of any concern. Following the loss, Paire bragged in a tweet about his career earnings and stated in a translation, "In the end, it's worth it to suck."

This is not Paire's first on-court meltdown, but this run of events could possibly take the cake. He is 1-5 on the season thus far.
