WATCH: Stepanek calls it a career after 21 years

Doubles standout, longevity poster child and worm-dancer Radek Stepanek has retired from tennis at 38.

Though the Czech turned pro in 1996, his biggest singles title, an ATP 500, came in Washington when he was 32. After his final win over Gael Monfils, Stepanek performed his signature celebration: the worm.

Stepanek would win five singles titles and enjoy some Grand Slam success as well, with fourth round showings at the Australian Open and French Open and a quarterfinal run at Wimbledon in 2006. He reached as high as No. 8 in singles and No. 4 in doubles.

Among his 18 doubles titles are the 2012 Australian Open and 2013 US Open, both of which he won with Leander Paes. He won a bronze medal in Rio last year in mixed doubles (with Lucie Hradecka).

Also in 2012 and 2013, Stepanek led his country to Davis Cup glory. He served as half the team, playing three rubbers—two singles and a doubles—in each of the finals.

But, on top of his tennis, he'll also be remembered for his fashion sense.

The Czech's final match was a second-round loss to David Goffin at the Australian Open.
