On the seventh season of My Tennis Life, we’re doing things a bit differently.

Instead of following two active players across the WTA and ATP calendar, the multi-platform show will check in with a host of figures in the sport—from players, to commentators to influencers and more—giving fans the most complete look yet at life on the tennis tour.

Ahead of the BNP Paribas Open, My Tennis Life caught up with defending champion Taylor Fritz as the Southern California native prepared for the biggest challenge of his career:

WATCH: My Tennis Life, Season 7 Episode 1: Taylor Fritz returns to the desert for his Indian Wells title defense.

“I'm trying not to think too much about defending a thousand points,” Fritz told press at the start of the tournament. “I'm defending a thousand points, but I'm also six in the [ATP Finals] Race this year.

“Let's just have a good result. Let's keep moving, let's keep a good position in the Race, and we'll go from there.”

My Tennis Life cameras captured Fritz doing just that, as he spent the build-up to Indian Wells in good spirits with his team—including girlfriend Morgan Riddle and coach Paul Annacone, who provided his signature commentary during one of Fritz’s practices on Stadium 1.
