The WTA's My Story video series goes inside the the lives of the stars on tour. Recently, that star was Dayana Yastremska, the 20-year-old from Ukraine, currently ranked No. 25 in the world.

Yastremska discussed everything, from her childhood and family to her future hopes. In the video, the Odessa native gave fans an inside look, noting that, as a child, she was drawn to many activities.

"The character and spirit I have right now, it’s from childhood," said Yastremska. "I was doing tennis, swimming, dancing, gymnastics, singing. But I loved something where you can put all your energy away."

That quirkiness and energy shines on her social media.

Yastremska spends as much time as possible with family, traveling with her mother on tour and seeing her father and younger sister (an aspiring professional tennis player) in Ukraine. In 2019, Yastremska won the Hua Hin title while her mother was in the hospital with an eye injury.

"My mother is in the hospital, she cannot see with her left eye," Yastremska said at the time. "And me, hitting the balls, that’s all that I have to do on the court, and bring this trophy back to my mother."

Thankfully, her mother recovered and Yastremska continues to exceed on the WTA tour. What are her future plans?

"My goal now is to perfect myself on the court and off the court, be more disciplined, get Top 20, to win a Grand Slam," Yastremska said. "My dream is just to be a happy person in life."
