Wickmayer documents pregnancy journey on Instagram

Yanina Wickmayer announced her pregnancy in October and she's allowing fans to be a part of her special journey. The five-time WTA titlist and her husband Jerome van der Zijl are keeping fans up to date by posting the cutest photos on Instagram.

Wickmayer lost her mother when she was just nine years old. In her heartfelt post on Instagram she states it was her biggest challenge, but it also made her dream about being a mother one day.

"My career has always been my first priority but it became harder and harder to put this dream aside and hold back on starting my own little family… My husband and I are beyond happy to welcome this baby of love into our family in April," Wickmayer wrote.

The 31-year-old assured fans she isn't saying goodbye to the tour just yet. For now, she's enjoying her pregnancy journey and having fun with it. Last month, she asked fans to weigh in on the sex of her first child.

Two days later she made the big reveal.

The world No. 99 is remaining as active as possible.

Although 2020 has been a difficult year, Wickmayer has been filling her followers' hearts with so much joy. Her baby girl is due in April.
