Two years ago the film "King Richard" announced the cast and crew were being selected and filming would take place shortly thereafter. Now in 2021 after months of filming in Los Angeles, the biopic starring five-time Golden Globe and two time Academy Award nominee Will Smith is set to hit the silver screen on November 19. Smith will play the leading role of Richard Williams, father of the most iconic sister act in tennis and beyond.

The first official trailer was shared by the American actor himself on Wednesday.

"One of the greatest honors as an actor is to be able to celebrate someone’s legacy while they’re still here creating it. I’ve gotten to do it a few times in my career playing ceoofhappyness and muhammadal, and every time it’s a fulfilling and expansive experience beyond compare," Smith wrote on Instagram.

The film will take audiences on an emotional journey and give a closer look into Richard's guidance and determination to lead Venus and Serena to the most unimaginable success. Both Serena and Venus along with sister Isha Price served as executive producers on the upcoming film in which Warner Bros says “highlights one father’s relentless drive and unapologetic vision to change the game.”

The true story will not only roll into theaters on the 19th, but will be available on HBO Max.
