WATCH: It turns out Ruud had a few good reasons to stick around London despite a second-round loss on Thursday.

Casper Ruud’s Wimbledon campaign may have ended in the first week, but the Norwegian is still working for the Weeknd.

The Roland Garros runner-up famously spend much of the last month following his favorite artist as he toured Scandinavia, and with The Weeknd planning to play London Stadium on Friday and Saturday, Ruud may not leave the United Kingdom just yet.

“I think I have doubles tomorrow, so actually I have a good excuse to stay,” he smiled despite the five-set loss to Liam Broady earlier on Thursday. “I think I might try to catch the show, yes.”

Ruud, who will play his first round of men's doubles alongside William Blumberg, led Broady two sets to one before the Brit roared back on what has been the former No. 2’s least favorite surface. While he doesn’t regret his minimal playing schedule between Roland Garros and Wimbledon, the 24-year-old is aware grass-court success will remain an uphill battle—at least when golf clubs aren’t involved.

“With the racquet setup that I have, the mentality that I have of my game, it's very difficult to kind of change and just say, ‘This week I'm going to play really flat and do completely different than what I've done for 20 years of my life,’” he mused.

“It's just difficult. But I'm going to keep trying. I have a goal, of course, in my career to try to do well here at some point. It didn't happen this year. I'll come back. I honestly love coming here. It's such a special place. Every year they do really, really many, a lot of really good improvements. They take really good care of the players.”

And, clearly, the city has good taste in music.
