Hi Paula! Hi…Casper?

No, not even the avalanche of Tsitsidosa social media coverage was enough to secure tennis’ very own Barbie and Ken in hypothetical roles replacing Barbie stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

During a quickfire Q&A at the Mubadala Citi DC Open, players were asked to cast their ideal tennis duo, and while Paula Badosa got the nod as Robbie’s “Stereotypical Barbie,” her co-star wouldn’t be boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Consensus instead coalesced around Ryan Gosling lookalike Casper Ruud, whose famous bleach blonde era immediately drew comparisons to the movie star when promotional stills from the movie first dropped.

Along with Badosa, Coco Gauff, Sloane Stephens, and Elena Rybakina were all thought of by their fellow players to step into Robbie’s plastic heels, while Ruud was joined by potential Kens Matteo Berrettini and Christopher Eubanks.

The Barbie movie has clearly become an international phenomenon, smashing box office records and becoming the biggest movie of the summer. Now that tennis has officially joined in on the trend, it may be safe to say coverage of the film has already jumped the shark.

But we can’t help but wonder: if Badosa is Barbie, who is Oppenheimer?
