On Monday, Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams faced off in Copenhagen for the Champions Battle 2018 exhibition match.

The event p served as a homecoming for the 27-year-old Wozniacki and served as a chance to celebrate her first Grand Slam victory, which came earlier this year at the Australian Open.

Wozniacki and Williams played in front of a sold-out arena of 12,500 with Wozniacki winning, 6-4, 6-3. For both, Copenhagen holds special meaning because it's where they first met.

"It’s a great honor to play Venus here in the national football stadium,” Woznacki said. "The last time she was here and I met Venus for the first time I was just 12, back in 2002. A lot’s changed and I’m really excited and honored to be here."
