Take a shot at this Queen, but you’d better not miss.

Zheng Qinwen looks ready for her coronation in a sprawling photoshoot for GQ China, landing on the cover for its latest issue.

The 20-year-old is fresh off an impressive win over No. 5 seed Jelena Ostapenko to reach the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open quarterfinals, and continues the slay the fashion game in a series of looks shot by photographer Kiki Xue.

This isn’t Zheng’s first high-profile magazine shoot, having turned the party for both Harper’s Bazaar China and Cosmo China—all in the wake of a WTA breakthrough that took her to the fourth round of Roland Garros.

Following in the footsteps of Chinese trailblazer Li Na, Zheng has become Li’s heiress presumptive as the country longs for its next big star.

“I think that she put a little seed in my heart that I also want to do it,” Zheng said of her idol, who won two major titles in 2011 and 2014. “I want to try to be like her, you know, and even better.”

Ranked just shy of her career-high of No. 25, the youngster affectionately called “Queenwen” looks ready for some on-court crowns in 2023 after an injury in Adelaide curtailed her Australian Open campaign.

Zheng will next face either top seed Daria Kasatkina or Jil Teichmann for a spot in Abu Dhabi’s semifinals.
