The final once looked like it might end quickly, but by the end, Coco had completely turned it around.
It's the 21-year-old's second Grand Slam singles title, and her first at Roland Garros.
She's the first American to win the clay-court major since Serena Williams, 10 years earlier.
The crowd loved Coco, and she loved them back, acknowledging them after the match.
Gauff is now 2-0 against Sabalenka in Grand Slam finals, and she lost the first set both times.
Sabalenka was despondent, while Gauff was jubilant.
Coco's parents, Corey and Candi, have been a support system from Day 1.
It was a singles match, but a family victory.
This marked the fifth consecutive year Gauff has reached at least the quarterfinal round at Roland Garros.
Twenty percent of Gauff's titles are majors.
Love was all around.
Later in the evening, Gauff came to Tennis Channel's set with trophy, and champagne, in hand.
Cheers, Coco!
