Texas Wild d. SAN DIEGO AVIATORS 20-19 (STB 7-6)
In one of the best matches so far this season, the Texas Wild came back from being down 18-14 after the fourth set to shock the San Diego Aviators in a Supertiebreaker. During the Supertiebreaker, Wild players Alex Bogomolov Jr. and Aisam Qureshi defeated Somdev Devvarman and Raven Klaasen on a deciding match point to win 7-6. Bogomolov Jr. was the star of the night, as he also won in men’s singles. The Wild are now off to a strong 3-1 start and lead the Western Conference. 

Springfield Lasers d. BOSTON LOBSTERS 23-13
The Springfield Lasers routed the Boston Lobsters to claim their first win of the season. The Lasers took a commanding 15-2 lead heading into halftime, which helped give them advantage for the rest of the match. Despite the loss, Lobsters player Eric Butorac picked up wins in men’s and mixed doubles.

WASHINGTON KASTLES d. Philadelphia Freedoms 25-10
The Washington Kastles swept the Philadelphia Freedoms in all five sets last night, as they improved to 4-0 and picked up their 16th straight win. Among the team league leader standings, the Kastles currently rank first in all five disciplines.

TODAY (July 11)

Live Stream of the Day – Washington Kastles @ Austin Aces – 8:30 PM EDT
The Washington Kastles and Austin Aces meet for the first time in the league’s history tonight. Aces star Andy Roddick is expected to lead the Aces the singles and doubles action. 2010 Wimbledon finalist Vera Zvonareva has been the standout in singles and will join 2013 Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli in women’s doubles. Kastles star Martina Hingis will also be in action, being a threat in three sets – singles, doubles and mixed. Hingis is yet to drop a game in women’s singles, and leads the league in mixed doubles. Hingis and Zvonareva are 1-2 in the league standings for women’s singles.

With a win, the Aces will stay close to the Western Conference leader Texas Wild. Expect a lot of drama in Austin tonight as the upset-minded Aces try to halt the Kastles match-winning streak at 16.

Philadelphia Freedoms @ Texas Wild – 8:30 PM EDT
After coming off one of their biggest wins since ending the Kastles 34-match winning streak last season, the Texas Wild return home to face the Philadelphia Freedoms in their first matchup of the season. The Wild will try to stay ahead in the Western Conference, while the Freedoms hope to snap their two-match losing streak. 

TOMORROW (July 12)

Live Stream of the Day – Texas Wild @ Springfield Lasers 8:00 PM EDT
The Springfield Lasers and Texas Wild for meet for the second time this season. In their first meeting, the Wild won in overtime against the Lasers 17-16 in a Supertiebreaker, clinched by Alex Bogomolov Jr. However, in this meeting, the Lasers will have former world No. 4 James Blake in their lineup, and will try to win their second match in a row. 

Boston Lobsters @ San Diego Aviators 10:00 PM EDT
After coming off disappointing losses on Thursday, the San Diego Aviators will host their fourth home match in six days against the Boston Lobsters. Boston’s Rik De Voest is still searching for his first win in men’s singles and CoCo Vandeweghe will serve as a substitute for the Lobsters. The Aviators will have marquee player Daniela Hantuchova to contribute in both singles and doubles.

Philadelphia Freedoms @ Austin Aces 8:30 PM EDT
The Austin Aces welcome the Philadelphia Freedoms in their first meeting in league history. In this matchup, the Aces will have marquee players Marion Bartoli and Andy Roddick in their lineup. The Freedoms are looking to notch a key victory away from home to hold their second place standing in the Eastern Conference, while the Aces need to keep pace for the playoff race in the Western Conference.
