Philadelphia Freedoms d. San Diego Aviators 19-18

The Philadelphia Freedoms capped off their home opener with a bang as they defeated the San Diego Aviators in dramatic fashion. Down 10-4, the Freedoms reeled off three straight sets to pull off the comeback. Victoria Azarenka was a key contributor for the Freedoms, as she won in women’s singles before partnering Marcelo Melo to victory in mixed doubles. This marks the Freedoms first win over the Aviators.

Boston Lobsters d. Austin Aces 20-18 (OT)

It was a memorable night for the Boston Lobsters, as head coach Robert Greene picked up his first win in a deserving manner. The Lobsters jumped out to an early 10-0 lead, but the Austin Aces fought back, eventually forcing Overtime and pulling within one game of reaching a Supertiebreaker before the Lobsters closed it out.

Texas Wild d. Springfield Lasers 22-13

The Texas Wild pulled away from the Springfield Lasers after halftime to secure their second win over the defending Western Conference champions. With the win, the Wild moved into a tie for first place in the Western Conference with the San Diego Aviators. The Wild are hoping to make their second straight playoff appearance this season.
