Philadelphia Freedoms d. BOSTON LOBSTERS 23-21

The Philadelphia Freedoms won their fifth straight match in dramatic fashion, as Frank Dancevic and Marcelo Melo saved seven match points before clinching the win with a 5-4 victory in men’s doubles. While the Boston Lobsters failed to close out their last home match with a win, John Isner brought plenty excitement to the capacity crowd, serving four Mylan Aces. The Freedoms went 4-0 in tiebreakers. With the win, the Freedoms stay one match behind the Washington Kastles in the battle for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

SAN DIEGO AVIATORS d. Springfield Lasers 21-15

The Bryan Brothers first match with the San Diego Aviators was a success, as they helped fight off the Springfield Lasers 21-15. The Aviators came from behind in the first four sets, before taking their first lead of the match at 16-15 going into men’s doubles. From there, Bob and Mike Bryan took over against Ross Hutchins and Michael Russell, winning 5-0. The Aviators win was enough to clinch them a playoff spot and the top seed for the Western Conference. Their opponent is yet to be determined.

Austin Aces d. TEXAS WILD 22-16

The Austin Aces were able to keep their Western Conference playoffs alive by defeating the Texas Wild 22-16. The Aces move themselves a game out of the second spot in the Western Conference, while the Wild fall a half game behind.
