SANTIAGO, Chile (AP)—Former champion Jose Acasuso of Argentina has retired during his second-round match at the Movistar Open because of an injury.
Acasuso, the Movistar champion in 2006 and runner-up last year, won the first set from countryman Eduardo Schwank 7-6 (3) on Thursday but was injured in the second set and quit the match after losing the set 6-2.
In another match on Thursday, Peter Luczak of Australia advanced to the quarterfinals, beating David Marrero of Spain 6-3, 7-6 (4).
