Novak Djokovic’s fall schedule is beginning to take shape.

Set to unite with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray on Team Europe at next month’s Laver Cup in London, Djokovic will reportedly headline a tournament in Tel Aviv immediately afterwards.

The ATP 250 event, which begins September 26, was awarded one of six single-year licenses following the cancellation of the Chinese swing. Tel Aviv has a strong ATP history, having been a part of the men’s tour calendar from 1978-1981 and 1983-1986. In 1989, Jimmy Connors lifted his men's record-extending 109th and final tour-level trophy over Israel’s Gilad Bloom.

When he arrives, Djokovic will seek his third title of the 2022 season. Last month, he captured his 21st major crown after defeating Nick Kyrgios in the Wimbledon final. Djokovic was unable to travel for the North American hard-court swing, as Canada and the U.S. require international vistiors to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Less than two weeks ago, he attended a basketball game in Slovenia, where he caught up with NBA superstar Luka Doncic.

Former US Open champion Dominic Thiem previously announced his upcoming participation at the Tel Aviv Watergen Open. Diego Schwartzman, Marin Cilic, along with Americans Maxime Cressy, Tommy Paul and Jenson Brooksby, also appear to be among the entrants.
