Whether it's leading Australia to two appearances in the Davis Cup Finals, or picking up some of the biggest wins of his career, Alex de Minaur brings his best to team competition.

He rose to the occasion once more on Saturday at the Chase Center, as he opened the second day of the 2025 Laver Cup with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Alexander Zverev to put two points on the board for Team World, which entered the day trailing 3-1 on the overall scoreboard.

After the one hour and 29-minute clinic, de Minaur confessed to reveling in the "different type of energy" that surrounds team-based tennis events since he's established himself as one of the top ATP players.

"On the tour, you're alone a lot of the time ... you're just playing for yourself," he told Tennis Channel after scoring just his third win in 11 matches against Zverev. "I enjoy when there's a bench, teammates that I'm playing for. I try to give them my all every single time I step out on court, and it does bring a different type of energy out of me which I really enjoy."
