Alexander Zverev has now won his last 25 matches in a row against left-handers

It was a double milestone kind of day for Alexander Zverev in Vienna on Monday, as he opened his campaign at the ATP 500 event with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Austria's Joel Schwaerzler.

First of all, Zverev’s win over the 18-year-old lefty—who reached No. 1 in the juniors this year—was his 60th win of the year.

It’s the second time in his career that he’s hit 60 wins in a year, having finished the 2018 season with exactly 60 wins.

He’s also just the second man to hit 60 wins this year.

The world No. 3 hasn’t lost to a lefty in 625 days, since falling to Switzerland’s Marc-Andrea Huesler, 6-2, 7-6 (4), in Davis Cup play on Saturday, February 4th, 2023. Since then he's a flawless 25-0 against left-handers, and 57-10 in sets.
