After “going through hell”, Amelie Mauresmo has been heard by the French court system.

Ex-wife Marie-Benedicte Hurel was found guilty of harassment, a verdict that comes with a four-month prison sentence. The 60-year-old is also barred from contacting Mauresmo for two years and going near her residences.

Mauresmo, 44, had accused her former partner of blackmail, as well as sending ongoing harassing text messages after filing for divorce last year. The two-time major winner pressed charges against Hurel in June and according to Le Parisien, was prescribed a total incapacity for work (ITT) for 10 days as a result of Burel’s then alleged behavior.

Hurel was acquitted of harassing Mauresmo’s current partner and has 10 days to appeal the guilty verdict. Mauresmo, who serves as tournament director for Roland Garros, was not present in Bayonne to hear the ruling.

The Frenchwomen tied the knot in July 2021, seven years after beginning their relationship. In August 2015, Mauresmo gave birth to their son Aaron and in April 2017, the two welcomed daughter Ayla.
