WATCH: Tennis Channel Live discusses Andy Murray’s five-set win against Nikoloz Basilashvili in the first round of the 2022 Australian Open.

Andy Murray has decided not to extend his coaching collaboration with Jan de Witt following a trial period, says the Daily Telegraph.

The 34-year-old three-time Grand Slam champion added de Witt, the former coach of Gilles Simon and Gael Monfils, at the pre-season exhibition event in Abu Dhabi. The former No. 1 then got to the final of the ATP event in Sydney before falling in the second round of the Australian Open.

Murray, who has been on and off the tour with various injuries since having hip resurfacing surgery in 2019, said in Melbourne he was disappointed with his second-round exit.

“You know, making the second round of Slams is not something I find particularly motivating. I want to be doing better than that," Murray told press at the time.

Murray split with Jamie Delgado, his coach since 2016, just before the off-season. He then had a coaching trial with Esteban Carril, former coach of Johanna Konta, during Stockholm in November—but according to the Telegraph, Carril was reluctant to travel the entire season with Murray.

Next, Murray is scheduled to play the ATP 250 event in Doha in two weeks, followed by the ATP 500 event in Dubai. He is currently No. 102 in the rankings.
