Just about two months ago, Petra Kvitova was saying goodbye to tennis after losing in the first round of the US Open.
In a few months from now, she'll be saying hello to a new family member.
The recently-retired former world No. 2 announced Thursday that she and husband Jiri Vanek are expecting their second child.

After a 2025 comeback for the love of the game rather than for results, the now-35-year-old announced in June that the US Open would be the final tournament of her career, got an emotional send-off at the grass-court Grand Slam that she won twice, and officially bid farewell to the tour after losing to France's Diane Parry in New York.
