After fighting off three match points, Marcos Baghdatis upsets Roger Federer 5-7, 7-5 7-6 (4) in the third round of Indian Wells.

It is the first time Federer has lost a match after holding match points since falling to Rafael Nadal in the 2006 Rome final. "I used up too many chances," said Federer. "Comes backs and haunts you. But he hung in there, obviously, otherwise he wouldn't be there.

"It wasn't the greatest match of all time I think from his side, either... Just because he beat me doesn't mean he's played the match of his life. He's a good player."

But Baghdatis, who kissed the court after his win, was overjoyed. "Don't know what to say," he wrote on his Twitter account. "The biggest win in my career...I am so happy!"
