Ashleigh Barty's French Open win has taken her up to No. 2 in the rankings, and she's setting her sights on No. 1 next.

"Obviously, that’s the next point, the next goal," she told press following her victory.

The 23-year-old Aussie is less than 150 ranking points behind Naomi Osaka this week, and will be within reach of No. 1 at Wimbledon.

But though she's aiming for the top spot, Barty is still aware of what she's already achieved, having stepped away from the game in 2014 and played professional cricket before returning three years ago.

"Being number two in the world is incredible and something I never dreamed of as a child," she said.

French Open finalist Marketa Vondrousova moved into the Top 20 at No. 16, while Kristina Mladenovic moved into the No. 1 doubles spot after partnering Timea Babos to the women's doubles crown.
