Three-time major champion Stan Wawrinka will call it a career on home soil come October.

While the end point of his farewell season had previously not been finalized, the Swiss Indoors Basel revealed its plans to honor the future Hall of Famer in an announcement that all but confirmed where Wawrinka will hang up his racquet.

“He would have liked to keep playing forever. But Basel marks the end of the line for Stan Wawrinka as he says goodbye to the game,” the tournament wrote.

A ticket pre-sale launches Wednesday for a special tribute set to kick off Monday, October 26 at 6 p.m.

“An emotional evening full of memories, surprises and magical moments from the career of the Vaud-born superstar awaits spectators,” organizers teased.

Wawrinka began his final season full of encouragement, hanging tough at the United Cup before reaching the third round of the Australian Open. The 41-year-old then returned to the Top 100 in February and March, before dropping back down the rankings to miss the initial Roland Garros main-draw entry cutoff.

On Tuesday, his preparations for Paris—where he is also set to be recognized following his last French Open match—took a hit when he withdrew from his second-round qualifying match in Rome. According to the reasoning listed, back pain prevented Wawrinka from taking on Pablo Carreño Busta.

Wawrinka is entered to play the Gonet Geneva Open, which takes place during Roland Garros qualifying. He was second out of the main draw as of Tuesday, with wild card selections yet to be released by the French Tennis Federation.
