Novak Djokovic will have Boris Becker coaching him in Miami after winning the Indian Wells title with Marian Vajda in the coaches' box.
Djokovic brought on Becker at the beginning of the season, with longtime coach Vadja taking on a decreased role and attending only a few tournaments this season.
But while the Serb lost his first two events with Becker, he won his first title of the year last week with Vajda.
Vajda "is definitely somebody that knows me so well," said Djokovic. "We have been working together for eight years, and he's been more than just a coach to me. Great support, mentor, older brother and father, whatever you want to call it.
And Boris is new to our team, so it's still a process of getting to know each other."
Djokovic insisted that he is still committed to Becker, who has never taken on a major coaching position before.
"People of course always question if Boris should be there or not be there, you know, now that Marian, first tournament he won the title with me, and Boris didn't do that in Australia and Dubai," said Djokovic. "But, look, it's the start of the season. We are all working together as a team. It doesn't make any difference now. Boris is the head coach and Marian respects that, I respect that, and we hope for success."
