WIMBLEDON, England (AP) Tomas Berdych advanced to the third round at Wimbledon by defeating Julien Benneteau of France 6-1, 6-4, 6-2.
The 2010 Wimbledon runner-up started his match more than two hours later than scheduled Wednesday because of rain on Day 3 at the All England Club.
Last year, the Czech defeated six-time champion Roger Federer in the quarterfinals and Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. He lost to Rafael Nadal in the final.
