Bianca Andreescu and coach Sven Groeneveld have split, Groeneveld has announced.

The veteran Dutch coach said on social media he had "decided not to extend our collaboration" and was "keen on new challenges in the men's or women's game," indicating he has not yet started coaching another player.

The pair began working together 14 months ago.

Andreescu, who won the 2019 US Open, delayed her start to the season to take a mental break, returning at the WTA event in Stuttgart. The 22-year-old Canadian then reached the Rome quarterfinals and the Bad Homburg final, but has generally had an uneven season even though she has appeared to be returning to form in recent weeks.

She is currently No. 46 in the rankings, having been as high as No. 4 during her career.

The holder of three tour-level titles has not announced a new coach.
