British player Andrew Fitzpatrick says that he had all off his travel money stolen while playing a Futures tournament in Vietnam two weeks ago. The 23-year-old said he had about $1,600 dollars taken when his wallet was stolen from beside a tennis court in Binh Duong, Vietnam.
Fitzpatrick then announced on Twitter that he was followed into a shower after playing a match by a man, who then “grabbed” him and attempted to assault him.
“He did something horrendous to me so I hit him,” the No. 456 Fitzpatrick said. “I thought he might be armed with some sort of weapon…I ran for the exit of the changing room so he couldn’t escape and I could call for back-up...Take my money, dignity. Not much left really, they can have it. I’m gone with this place, just hope I have enough to get out.”
