Carlos Alcaraz has extended his Masters 1000 winning streak to 15 matches in a row with a grueling 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 victory over Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Open on Friday.

And his excellence at this level is starting to become historic.

With his latest victory, Alcaraz has now surpassed Roger Federer for the third-best career winning percentage in Masters 1000 history, since this level of tournament began back in 1990.

Alcaraz went from .7788 (81-23) to .7810 (82.23) with his win over Rublev, surpassing Federer’s winning percentage of .7791 (381-108).

The Spaniard now only trails the other two members of the Big 3, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, on the all-time list.
