Frenchman Jeremy Chardy's girlfriend, Alize Lim, is also his mixed-doubles partner at Roland Garros this year. What's more, she's his defender on social media. Lim took on none other than Maria Sharapova on Friday after the Russian tweeted that she didn't know Benoit Paire or Chardy before seeing them in action in this Grand Slam's first week. Wrote Sharapova, "I think I need to watch more #rolandgarros tennis. Yesterday, had no clue who Paire was, today Chardy?I need to step up my tennis knowledge!" Lim's response:

Lesson learned by Maria: Chardy is ranked a spot above her own main squeeze, Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria.

That, dear reader, is a quick and simple social-media clinic that Lim put on. Take note. Though Chardy and Lim bowed out in mixed doubles at this French Open to the No. 3-seeded team of Nenad Zimonjic and Katarina Srebotnik (obviously no slouches), they did win a round.

They appear to be quite happy, and whilst Chardy is serving big and rising up the ATP ranks, his girlfriend, ranked outside the WTA's top 200, can look on and be inspired by his play—and continue to good-naturedly upbraid those who speak ignorantly about him.
