PARIS (AP) Juan Ignacio Chela reached the French Open quarterfinals by beating Alejandro Falla of Colombia 4-6, 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2 on Monday.
Chela, the only non-European left in the men's draw, will next face either Andy Murray of Britain or Viktor Troicki of Serbia.
The unseeded Argentine also reached the quarterfinals at the 2004 French Open and the 2007 U.S. Open.
Falla has never won a title, but last year at Wimbledon he nearly beat Roger Federer in the first round, failing to serve out the match at 5-4 in the fourth set.
