Grigor Dimitrov has withdrawn from next week’s ATP event in Marseille, saying he needs more rest following his winning run.

The 25-year-old Bulgarian is 17-2 this season, winning titles at Brisbane and Sofia, and reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open.

He experienced just his second defeat of 2017 when he fell to David Goffin in the quarterfinals of Rotterdam.

"Three days ago I was playing in the final of Sofia," he said. "It's important to stay healthy and do the right things."

Mischa Zverev, who partnered his brother, Alexander, to victory in the doubles at Montpellier and then played Rotterdam, has also withdrawn from Marseille.

Dimitrov, who has reached a career-high of 8 in the world, is currently No. 12 in the rankings.
