The victorious Croatians had a surprise locker-room visitor after they upset the U.S. in Davis Cup: Andre Agassi, the man Ivan Ljubicic beat in straights on Day One of the competition, the man who would have had to play the decisive fifth match against Mario Ancic had Andy Roddick beaten Ljubicic.

In Ljubicic’s own words, this is what happened: “After the match, Andre came in our locker room and he said that he was privileged to watch this match, and {he} said to us to enjoy this moment because it doesn’t last forever. I really appreciate that from him and I think he’s great person. And he showed that again, he’s just incredible. Then Darren {Cahill, Agassi’s coach} came and Dean {Goldfine, Roddick’s coach} . . . . I really appreciate that. That’s phenomenal.”
